Ruth Eller Kahn

Musica Marin founder and artistic director, Ruth Kahn, has had a special vision for much of her adult life: a vision to inspire, educate and cultivate appreciation and support for the classical arts. Musica Marin is the embodiment of this vision and takes pride in offering “a front row seat with a backstage pass” to premier concert events within easy reach to many.

A Juilliard School graduate, renowned violist, and Bay Area native, Kahn has performed around the world from the most intimate venues to the most prominent stages. Whether being part of the New York City Ballet, San Francisco Opera, or festivals across Europe, Kahn’s passion for the powerfully uniting force of classical music is continuously reaffirmed.

Since its formation in 2014, Musica Marin has offered unique, world-class concert events with internationally-renowned musicians in intimate settings that cultivate and expand audiences’ awareness and participation in musical arts. Programs include: In-home Concert Series, a Young Artists Performance, a Composer-in-Residence, and partnering with such esteemed organizations as The Juilliard School, Mill Valley Film Festival, San Francisco Boys Chorus and Merola Opera Program.

Mark Furr

“Best of the Bay” award winner and 20-year veteran of fine restaurants and hotels in San Francisco, including Marriott Marquis, Radius, and Broken Record, Chef Mark Furr heads up the culinary experiences at the inaugural Musica Marin International Chamber Music Festival.

As a classically trained chef in French kitchens for ten years, Furr has appeared on the Travel Channel and garnered prestigious awards including Zagat’s Top 10 Bites at Eat Drink SF Grand Tasting.

Chef Mark Furr is currently the Director of Culinary Arts & Music, and Musica Marin and The South Beach Yacht Club in San Francisco.
